I think everyone I know, including the “good” kids, have stolen from work at some point. One friend I had stole books from the public library. Getting caught, on the other hand…not as much from what I’ve seen. Usually too expensive to prosecute anyway. A former co-worker stole $90,000 over three years, then moved to Florida; even then, they didn’t go after her. I’m kind of surprised they bothered with Garrett…
I’ve never stolen from work even when I was a kid. Just seems weird to me that it’s considered “OK”.
Will we be seeing Garrett’s hands be chopped off?

The plot thickens.
that was captivating! he’s so interesting as an antihero. cool.
nice work.
best one yet.
Killer last line.
I did the same thing with a job I once had. Except I had all sorts of moral justifications. “This is what I am owed,” or “I need this more then them,” or I even got political with cost of living arguements. In my head, I was stealing bread because I was hungry.
Loss control sits me, tells me they already know everything so there is no point in lying. I try anyway, except I am shaking like a leaf when they start talking about felony charges and the like.
I admit to half what I really stole. Got three months to pay it all back with no police intervention. Lost my shitty job. Went to college and started a career.
Anyways. BEEN THERE.
Thick as thieves. But for the grace of God go a lot of us.
SINNER
